Departure from San José to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí is schedule early in the morning. On the way we will stop at Poás Volcano National Park. This volcano, located at 2,704 ms above sea level, has one of the widest craters in the world with a diameter of 1 mile. Then on the way we will appreciate the natural beauty of La Paz and San Fernando waterfalls. Once in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí, we will start our journey by boat through the Sarapiquí River. This river is very quiet and is surrounded by extensive tropical vegetation which attracts different kinds of animals, such as alligators, howler monkeys, turtles, slots and a wide variety of birds. On the way back to San José we will pass through the Braulio Carrillo National Park. It is a full-day tour.
